Joining Jack Charity Run, Wigan
September 1st is the date for the annual Joining Jack 10K run in Wigan. Once again we will be playing in the Robin Park Arena WN5 0UH, during the run for those needing a bit of extra summer sound encouragement to reach the finish line. Sept 7th/8th - Malpas Yesteryear Rally has become a regular favourite with the Orchestra over the last eighteen years or so. We will be playing from around 11.00 am and throughout the weekend on a trailer near the lower entrance to the stalls field. Crewe Cosmopolitan Food Festival
This weekend it’s the Crewe Cosmopolitan Food Festival at Morrison’s Store on Dunwoody Way, CW1 3AW. We really enjoyed the smells and taste of the food last year at the Autumn Food Festivals and we have been invited to come along again and provide the musical atmosphere on Sunday 27th October from around 10.00 till 1.00. The Christie – Night of Neon
The Christie charity is holding the ‘Night of Neon’ charity run around Salford Quays in the evening of Saturday November 9th. They have asked us to play from around 7.00pm to 9.30 pm to entertain everyone with the Sound of Stockport Steel and set the atmosphere for all the runners and walkers who will be raising money for this fantastic hospital for cancer treatment and care. Romiley traders are celebrating Christmas early this year with a special market. Once the afternoon gets dark enough there will be the traditional switch on of the Christmas lights. There will be Christmas stalls and music all day to keep you entertained. We will be playing around that lights celebration starting at 3.30 through till 4.45. Marple Bridge – Winter Wonderland
This year our local Christmas Marple event is in Marple Bridge with their busy Winter Wonderland on Saturday December 7th. The event and fun starts at 1.00 pm and goes through to 4.00 pm. You will find us playing on Town Street a couple of times during the afternoon and we will be collecting for the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital Bone Marrow Trust Fund for which we have now raised over £57,000.
