Albert Square, Manchester, 11th December.

The final outdoor event of 2005 found us once again in the massive European market in Albert Square, Manchester.

It gave everyone a good opportunity to unwind after the hectic year and set us up for a good Christmas and looking forward to another year on the road in 2006, which will include another long awaited tour in Devon in August.

Look for the details later on our venues playing list.

Stockport, Merseyway Shopping centre, October

Stockport, 8th October.

Here we are playing again on home turf although we had to stay undercover to dodge the heavy drizzle that threatened our day. Nevertheless we gave eight of our Junior players a chance to see what events are all about, and since this was a collection for our favourite charity we collected just over £628, some of which had to learn to swim in the buckets.

Scarborough, 21st August

Scarborough, 21st August.

What a great time we had in a very sunny Scarborough. This was our first visit to this bustling resort and a chance to catch up with Town Centre Manager Malcolm (in the middle) from our visits to Torbay

Rotherham, 11th August

Rotherham Central Sure Start, 11th August.

A World Culture day at Rotherham Central Sure Start was enjoyed by all, with the our gang making Boggarts (things that go bump in the night), tasting the world food and getting henna tattoos, whilst the youngsters (and others!) joined in the percussion group at the back for the final session. A great day out for all!!

Pavilion Gardens, Buxton, July

Buxton Carnival, Pavilion Gardens, July.

A good 'all round' crowd joined us for some sun and lunch on the Slopes in Buxton on Carnival day. These were taken before we upped sticks and moved to the Pavilion Gardens for a second session where again a super crowd joined in the fun.

Vernon Park, 19th June

Davenham, July

Vernon Park, Stockport, 19th June.

At last the sun shone for us this weekend as we played to big audiences at Davenham Carnival, in Cheshire and also on home territory in Vernon Park, Stockport, where we played to support an event in aid of Cancer research.

With an audience of around 500 sprawled and sunbathing around the grassy slopes, the event raised in excess of £500.

Chesterfield, Photographed by John Brookes

Chesterfield, 4th June

Chesterfield, 4th June.

Every cloud has a silver lining and we needed it at Chesterfield on a day
that couldn't make its mind up even though we played to bring out the sun.

Finally Clarence started up a conga line to bring some good cheer to the
afternoon and smile to the faces of the large audience.

Stockport, Merseyway Shopping centre, May

Stockport Town Centre, May.

Merseyway Stockport brought out the Sunday shoppers as well as few of our
junior players. Another fun day with donations to our favourite charity
bringing in another £365.

Pavilion Gardens, Buxton, 8th May

Pavilion Gardens, Buxton, 8th May.

After a few wet events we went to Buxton on May 8th, and set up in the rain again - but it was short lived and the afternoon's playing wasn't interrupted despite watching the black clouds go dangerously close.

The cool weather made the Pavilion Gardens quieter than usual but we're sure that when we return for the Carnival on July 16th it will be buzzing.

Rowsley, Derbyshire, May

Rowsley, Derbyshire, May.

Our first visit this year to the Peak Village outlet shopping centre at Rowsley, in Derbyshire, was a pleasant event despite having to get out the covers to protect the pans from the occasional shower.

We are back again on July 24th when they are holding a fun day in aid of the Marie Curie Cancer Fund so come along and join in the fun and listen to the sound of Stockport steel.

Continental Market, Ashton, 24 April

Continental Market, Ashton, 24th April.

Ashton-Under-Lyne held a three day continental market at the end of April and we used the Sunday to carry out a collection for the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital Bone Marrow Trust Fund, a charity we have been supporting since 1985 and for which we have now raised over £30,000.

Thanks to the people of Ashton and around, this day brought in another £291. Another appearance and collection will happen in Ashton on Saturday 2nd July

The Moor, Sheffield, 16th April

The Moor, Sheffield, 16th April.

The Orchestra started this season's outside events busking on The Moor in Sheffield on Saturday 16th April. Everything was going fine until we were invaded by the Corona beer bottles who insisted on bringing even more cheer to the afternoon by dancing to the music.

It wouldn't have been so bad but drinking on the street is prohibited so we didn't get any free samples - for the organisers of course! This also marked the launch of our new CD which is now available wherever we are playing. We return to Sheffield for the Farmers Market on Sunday September 25th.

If you have any more photos from 2005, please send them.
